Happy Death Day 2U: A Clever Sequel to An Outlandish Premise

Happy Death Day came out in 2017 and was a hit. It combines comedy, horror, and science fiction, as well as having Jessica Rothe in a leading role for the first time. Two years later the sequel, Happy Death Day 2U came out and still was fresh and original.

This time the roommate character Ryan played by Phil Vu, wakes up in his car not remembering the previous nights events. He gets killed and wakes up in the same car and it turns out he is stuck in a time loop. This was a clever move from the writers to have another character be stuck in a time loop. Eventually it comes back to Tree played by Rothe and she is stuck in the same time loop on Monday the 18th but with a slight twist.

Tree finds herself in a different dimension and the mystery of the time loops is discovered. The other characters like Lori played by Ruby Modine, Carter played by Israel Broussard, and Danielle played by Rachael Matthews, play different versions of themselves. This creates some very fun scenarios.

Tree has her mother back in this dimension but doesn’t have memories of that life. She has to make a choice which dimension to stay in. But to get back home she must figure something g and and that means getting killed numerous times again. There are many creative and hilarious death scenes in this movie. But this time around the constant deaths take a toll on Tree. Her next death could be her last. Jessica Rothe is a talented actress with dramatic and comedic skills. I hope to see her in more roles. There is a sequel setup and I hope it gets made because this is a clever, fun franchise. Happy Death Day 2U found a way to be fresh and new while repairing the same day over and over for a second time. My only complaint is that in the trailer they use the 50 Cent song "In Da Club" once again but not in the actual movie. 🍔🍔🍔 and 1/2🍔

How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World: A Great Ending to An Amazing Trilogy

How to Train Your Dragon is one of the best Dreamworks animated movie series around. Each movie gets better and better. The themes dealt with in How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World are growing and moving on. Hiccup must learn this to truly grow.

As Hiccup frees more dragons he tries to find the hidden world, the place where all dragons come from. He has become the leader of burke but still acts the same as he has before. He needs to see things from a leaders perspective. The villain of the movie has another night fury and toothless is in love. They have gotten so used to each other that without dragons, the people of burke can't function anymore.

The visuals are just amazing and have gotten better with each movie. The scenes of all the dragons flying together from afar look real. The camera shows a riders point of view in some flying scenes. There is so much emotion in the dragon and human characters you almost go to tears when watching. This is truly a great end to a great trilogy. Jay Baruchel has done a great job voicing Hiccup. Gerard Butler makes a cameo as Stoick and brings heart to such a fierce character. Toothless has because a name that children have grown to love. 🍔🍔🍔🍔

CinemaBurger Logo!

Hey everyone I'm proud to introduce the official CinemaBurger logo!!!! Designed by my friend!!!

Godzilla: King of The Monsters: An Action Packed Monster Mash

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is the follow up to the 2014 Godzilla movie. This time around it brings in other classic TOHO monsters such as Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah. The first Godzilla movie lacked Godzilla and monster fights while the sequel has plenty of action and plot ridiculous enough to mirror that of one of the Godzilla movies from the 60s and 70s.  It's been five years since Godzilla fought the MUTOs in San Francisco, and many more titans have shown up all over the world. When a terrorist group wants to awaken a monster capable of fighting Godzilla it's up to the government group Monarch to stop them.

When each monster is introduced, it's given an ancient backstory featuring references to the classic TOHO origins. The designs of Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah are awesome. Ghidorah has three heads and they all have different personalities which is great detail. The middle head is more dominant, while the left head is more exploratory. Rodan is a fierce, fiery pterodactyl and the first scene with Rodan is intense. He attacks a military hovercraft and is shrieking and menacing. Mothra is majestic but not without her defenses. She helps Godzilla fight and is very colorful. Godzilla has a bit more personality in this movie and knows how to beat down.

There is an ongoing use of heartbeats in Godzilla: King of The Monsters. Anytime a monster is on  screen and fighting or when there is a really intense moment. The monsters are treated with the respect they deserve. There are some good references to the oxygen destroyer and burning Godzilla from past movies. There is a plot about waking up all the monsters and letting them reclaim the earth which is ridiculous and just crazy enough to be fun.

There is a good cast featuring Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Charles Dance, Ken Watanabe, Bradley Whitford, and O’Shea Jackson Jr.. They round out the movie adding to the best part, the fights. The fights are the best because there are giant monsters fighting and destroying everything. This movie definitely delivers and makes up for the diary movie. 🍔🍔🍔

Lego Movie 2: Continuing to Push The Boundaries of Kids Films

When The Lego Movie came out it blew people away with amazing effects and a heartwarming story. There have been two spin off movies since then but when the direct sequel came out, audiences were excited to see what was next for the people of bricksburg.

The world of duplo came to bricksburg and destroyed the town. We join the characters in a mad max post-apocalyptic setting. There are lessons about being yourself and accepting others as well as realizing that you don’t have to and can’t be happy all the time. There are more live action scenes in this movie than the first one but they serve a purpose. They are used to show the dynamic between the brother and sister that play with the lego world set up in the movie.

The Lego Movie 2 uses the same observational humor about personalities and situations threat the first one does. The character Rex Dangervest represents the change that Lucy wanted for Emmett but in a really drastic way. At the center, this movie is about a brother and sister getting along and learning to share. There are catchy songs, real life lessons for the whole family, and stunning visuals. Lets hope there are more lego movies to come. 🍔🍔🍔

Contagion: Scarily Accurate But Slightly Exaggerated

Contagion came out in 2011 and was directed by Steven Soderbergh and stars Laurence Fishburne, Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Kate Winslet. It is about an outbreak of an unknown virus that sweeps the world. When it originally came out it did moderately well and wasn’t thought of much after that. But now with Coronavirus sweeping the world Contagion is more relevant than ever before. There are many things accurate about this movie and a few things that are slightly exaggerated.

This movie shows the how many days the virus has spread at the bottom of the screen, starting with day two. It follows Gwyneth Paltrow around for a bit, really focusing on everything infected people touch. It just goes to show how fast something can spread through contact, just like Coronavirus. The movie is shown mainly from the CDC(Center for Disease Control) and WHO(World Health Organization) point of view. They try to determine to origin of the virus and it’s incubation period and how many people at a time it will infect. The movie takes great detail in providing this information. Since the CDC doesn’t fully know enough about the virus they give limited information to the public which causes a panic. There is more known about Coronavirus and there has been more and consistent information being given to the public. In the movie there were talking about quarantines and social distancing to prevent the spread of it.

Jude Law's character is a blogger who thinks the pharmaceutical companies and the media are working together to make profit. He represents how the media in real life caused a panic resulting in people panic shopping and making certain items like sanitizer and toilet paper hard to get. Contagion is hard not to keep your eyes glued to because of the comparison to what is happening right now in the world. Just seeing how things are handled in what is essentially an alternate reality or a look at things to come. Matt Damon represents the public's view of how the virus is shown. He is immune and was married to Gwyneth Paltrow.

The WHO thinks the origin originated in Honk Kong and came from bats and pigs. They weren’t sure how the two species came into contact. At some point the virus mutates just as the CDC thinks they have it figured out. They had been experimenting with it to create a vaccine. They determine who gets it first by doing a lottery based on birthdays. At the end of the movie they show how and where the virus originated and show day one at the bottom of the screen and the movie ends. This movie is a cautionary tale about how not giving enough information can lead to mass panic and how the media can influence people’s opinions. 🍔🍔🍔 and 1/2🍔

100 Underrated Movies of The Last Decade Part 2

Here it is! Part 2 of the some underrated movies of the last decade in no particular order. Here are numbers 75-51.

75. "Evil Dead" (Fede Alvarez, 2013)

Another remake to be forgotten after a few years that deserves more credit is the 2013 Evil Dead remake. It received positive reviews and used a lot of practical special effects. Jane Levy stars in her first leading role, and she really tests her acting range in this movie. Instead of a more campy tone, the remake goes for straight horror and gore. There were talks of making a crossover movie with Ash and the Jane Levy character but nothing has been mentioned in a few years.

74. "Storks" (Nicholas Stoller, Doug Sweetland, 2016)

From the studio that made The Lego Movie, Storks is a clever take on the story of the storks. Nicholas Stoller delivers a hilarious and over the top script and Andy Samberg, Kelsey Grammer, and Katie Crown lead a great voice cast. For an animated children's movie, it has jokes for all ages. There are many animated movies that come out over the years and Storks has such silly and ridiculous jokes without resorting to vulgarity. Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele voice the leaders of a wolfpack and they are about half of the movies jokes.

73. "Wind River" (Taylor Sheridan, 2017)

This detective movie set in Wyoming stars Jeremy Renner as a hunter helping FBI agent Elizabeth Olsen. It features many native american actors as well and is a compelling mystery. There is gruesome murder in the snowy area of the mountains that makes some great cinematography. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat with suspense and is one of the better murder mystery movies of the previous decade.

72. "Delirium" (Dennis Iliadis, 2018)

Topher Grace stars in this psychological thriller as a man recently out from a mental institute of about 15 years. He is on house arrest for a month and without his medication he starts seeing things and becomes paranoid. This is one of Topher's best performances especially because he is in many scenes by himself. He really shows his dramatic range as an actor and deserves an award for it. This movie was released very limited and to streaming and deserves to be seen by a wider audience.

71. "The A-Team" (Joe Carnahan, 2010)

This movie adaptation of the show from the 1980s had a great cast starring Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, and Quinton "Rampage" Jackson as the four members. The four had great chemistry and the plot was fun, action packed, and entertaining. There was never a sequel made and it's a shame because while it didn't get the best critical reviews, it was one of the better television to film adaptations.

70. "Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit" (Kenneth Branagh, 2014)

Starring Chris Pine as a young, charismatic Jack Ryan this early story is action packed and has Kenneth Branagh as a great villain as well as director of the movie. It's a great entry into the Jack Ryan series and Chris Pine is a better Jack Ryan than John Krasinski. It never got the recognition it deserved and there should have been more movies with Pine.

69. "The Edge of Seventeen" (Kelly Fremon Craig, 2016)

This teen drama starring Hailee Steinfeld, is severely underrated because it really shows modern teen drama. Hailee Steinfeld gives maybe her second best performance and has a great onscreen chemistry with Woody Harrelson. Steinfeld goes through a lot of emotional range and it's a must see.

68. "Uncle Drew" (Charles Stone III, 2018)

A story about a famous street basketball player and getting an old team back together, this movie shows age doesn't mean you're down for the count. Starring Kyrie Irving, Lil Rel Howery, Shaquille O'neal, and Nick Kroll, Uncle Drew is very funny and features incredible performances from basketball players. In fact they are acting better than the actors in the movie. This movie has heart and deserves another look.

67. "Dracula Untold" (Gary Shore, 2014)

This new origin for dracula was action packed and gave new mythos to the legend. Luke Evans is very charismatic and really shows the duality of dracula. Dominic Cooper and Charles Dance are great supporting characters. This movie was originally supposed to start Universal's Dark Universe. It would have been a good choice because the final scene takes place in the present time. The low box office cancelled that idea until the 2017 Mummy movie but that fared even worse and the Dark Universe was dead for good.

66. "Brooklyn's Finest" (Antoine Fuqua, 2010)

This cop drama shows the three different New York cops leading to the same scene with different stories. This was the first new role for Wesley Snipes in a few years. This movie shows the different lives of city cops and great performances from Don Cheadle, Richard Gere, and Ethan Hawke. This is one of the forgotten Antoine Fuqua movies and needs to be recognized.

65. "St. Vincent" (Theodore Melfi, 2014)

This is another great Bill Murray performance and a retired war veteran who is down on his luck. He mentors a kid whose parents are recently divorced and Melissa Mccarthy plays the mother. This is the first dramatic role for Melissa Mccarthy and it proves that she can really act. Comedic actors sometimes go out of their comfort zone and this is one of the best cases. Mccarthy should do more roles like this instead of comedy. This definitely deserves to be rewatched.

64. "Logan Lucky" (Steven Soderbergh, 2017)

This movie reunites Channing Tatum and Steven Soderbergh in this comedy heist setting. Channing Tatum and Adam Driver play brothers who need to rob a nascar race for its money and it's hilarious. Daniel Craig plays a southerner and this is a great comedic introduction for him. The comedic banter between Tatum, Driver, and Craig is some of the funniest in awhile. This is a real underrated comedy and should be watched again and again.

63. "Destination Wedding" (Victor Levin, 2018)

This comedy stars Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder as two people invited to someone's wedding in Hawaii. They both make observational commentary about everything to each other and debate about relationships. For a very dialogue heavy movie the scenes are mesmerizing to watch. Reeves and Ryder develop great chemistry and their jokes are unlike we've scene. They say things we are all thinking but never say.

62. "Green Room" (Jeremy Saulnier, 2016)

A punk band featuring Anton Yelchin and Imogen Poots, gets a gig in a sketchy area in the woods and it turns out to be a place of murderous rednecks led by Patrick Stewart. This is creepy fight for survival and it's nice to see Stewart as a villain. It's one of the better thrillers of the decade and one of Yelchin's last performances.

61. "Ingrid Goes West" (Matt Spicer, 2017)

Aubrey Plaza stars as a socially awkward person who becomes obsessed with an instagram influencer played by Elizabeth Olsen. She becomes close and meets her while stalking her. This movie is a cautionary tale about being dependant too much of social media. Also it shows how people can appear to be one way on the internet and totally different in person. This is a must see.

60. "The Angriest Man In Brooklyn" (Phil Alden Robinson, 2014)

This was one of Robin Williams final roles and he plays a man with a lot of anger. He receives a diagnosis from a doctor played by Mila Kunis that he will die in a few hours. This movie gives a great lesson about letting the small things go and don't let grudges stick. It has a heartfelt ending and this movie never got the attention it deserved.

59. "Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far On Foot" (Gus Van Sant, 2018)

Based on the book by John Callahan about a paraplegic, recovering alcoholic, Joaquin Phoenix and Jonah Hill give amazing performances. Phoenix plays Callahan and Hill plays his sponsor. Callahan draws cartoons of crude humor to bring joy to the world. This is a deep, dramatic movie that isn't afraid to get dark when it has too. This got a limited release and more people should watch it to see Phoenix's acting range.

58. "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" (Ben Stiller, 2013)

This remake of a movie from the forties is directed by and starring Ben Stiller. Stiller stars as an editor for Life magazine and must find the cover photo for the final issue being printed. He must travel the world trying to find the photographer. Stiller's character is a daydreamer and it's these scenes that show amazing cinematography and directing from Stiller. The shots of Iceland are breathtaking and his acting is very somber and restrained. This never received any awards and deserved more.

57. "Den of Thieves" (Christian Gudegast, 2018)

For a January release movie, Den of Thieves was a multilayered script with a trailer that didn't reveal the entire plot. It's about a group of bank robbers being pursued by a questionable cop played by Gerard Butler. This movie was full of twists and turns and the action scenes were shot very well. For an over two hour movie it's very engaging and setup a sequel that looks equally as engaging.

56. "Colossal" (Nacho Vigalondo, 2017)

Starring Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, a women movies back to her hometown and reunites with childhood friends. Meanwhile there is a giant monster attacking Soule, South Korea. This movie is about gaslighting and guilt trips and features a clever twist and monster fight. There has never been a movie like this and it needs to be seen. It's a giant monster drama.

55. "Source Code" (Duncan Jones, 2011)

This sci fi action movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal as a soldier stuck in a machine that lets him revisit the events of a train explosion. He must figure out who did it before the train explodes. He meets a woman played by Michelle Moynahan and develops a connection. This movie is very sci fi to its purest form and there aren't enough of those.

54. "Searching" (Aneesh Chaganty, 2018)

This stars John Cho as a dad trying to find her missing daughter. This movie takes place entirely on the computer through various social media apps. There have been movies made in the past in this style, but they were just generic horror movies. Where Searching differs is that it's a mystery movie about what happened to Cho's daughter. The daughter and him had a strained relationship to begin with. Cho is great as a man desperate to find his loved one.

53. "Silence" (Martin Scorsese, 2016)

This movie stars Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver as spanish priests looking for another missing priest played by Liam Neeson. This took place in the 1600s wheen catholic priests were trying to convert the japanese. Garfield gets captured and tortured by the japanese.  Nesson shows up as a converted man who seems brainwashed. This is a very compelling movie with strong performances. At a three hour runtime, it leaves the audience wanting more. A must see that received no awards.

52. "Broken City" (Allen Hughes, 2013)

Starring Mark Wahlberg as a private eye and Russell Crowe as the mayor, this detective movie has a solid script with a good twist. Wahlberg is good at playing the down on his luck hero looking for his redemption and Crowe is good at playing the New York/Boston person of power. Another January movie that got overlooked and dismissed too quickly that deserves another look.

51. "Brigsby Bear" (Dave McCary, 2017)

Brigsby Bear is about a child who was abducted and brainwashed by his captures who created, starred in, and produced a kids show called brigsby bear for over fifteen years. He is freed by the police and reunited with his real family and sets out to make a movie of Brigsby Bear. If that synopsis alone doesn't draw you in, I don't know what will. Starring and written by Kyle Mooney from saturday night live, and Mark Hamill, this is a truly odd and heartwarming movie.

The Hunt: Absolutism, No Matter What Your Morals, Still Has Negative Ramifications

The Hunt is about extreme left wing people hunting people who are racist or morally insensitive. This movie was supposed to come out September of 2019 but got delayed because there was a mass shooting and would have been insensitive to release at the time. The Hunt stars Betty Gilpin and Hilary Swank and they are great.

Betty Gilpin is in one of her first leading roles and she is great. She uses a very convincing southern accent and she does great fun and physical work in the movie. There are a lot of good cameo characters including Ike Barinholtz, Ethan Suplee, and Emma Roberts. There is a lot of comedy coming from characters that only show up for one or two scenes.

Where this movie really shines is the message it’s trying to convey. While racism and social intolerance is absolutely wrong, trying to kill people because of absolute morality and extremism is also wrong. This movie also shows that good intentions can be warped and twisted. In the marvel comic, Infinity Crusade, after Adam Warlock has taken control of the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos, he had to purge all good and evil from himself. All the evil was manifested into The Magus and all the good was manifested into The Goddess. She was absolute good so she mind controlled half the universe so they would be good. There would be no evil in the universe but there would also be no free will. The Hunt shows how people with a lot of power think because they can, try to change society forcefully because they think it will better mankind.

A good villain never thinks they are doing something wrong. They always think they are doing the write thing but use extreme methods. Hilary Swank plays a good villain. But her reasoning behind her plan isn’t fully fleshed out. There could have been some more explanation. Overall this is an entertaining movie. Maybe not the most memorable but while you’re watching it you’ll have a good time. 🍔🍔 and 1/2 🍔

Bloodshot: A Cliche Movie From A Different Perspective

Bloodshot is based on the valiant comics character of the same name. It stars Vin Diesel as Ray Garrison, a dead soldier augmented with nanotechnology. Now this sounds like a familiar story, and it is, but it shows the story from a different perspective for half of the movie and that’s refreshing.

The plot of Bloodshot is not new. The soldier gets hurt and rebuilt by a mysterious group and later finds out it was the group that hurt and betrayed him to begin with. Guy Pearce plays the head of RST,  the tech group that rebuilt Garrison. Pierce is always good as the villain. What Bloodshot does that is clever show the events leading up to Garrison getting hurt and rebuilt like normal. Then when his mind is erased and it happens again they show the events from RST’s point of view.

Instead of focusing only on Vin Diesel, the movie shows the ins and outs of RST and what it takes to create the simulations and other ways of fooling Garrison. Diesel is used as a driving force to move the story along. If the movie only focused on Diesel then it would be a stale, rehashed revenge action movie. Even though not all the people at RST are bad, you see what they go through on a daily basis. Lamorne Morris plays a former RST programmer who is being targeted and he has a lot of good comic relief in the movie.

While the overall story of Bloodshot isn’t anything new, the audience gets to see a different perspective on things. There are some good action scenes and Vin Diesel is Vin Diesel. Check this one out if you get a chance, maybe as a rental. 🍔🍔

Onward: A Mythical Bro-Comedy

Onward is the newest Pixar movie and it does feel like a different tone from previous movies. It features a world full of mythical creatures but it also feels lives in. It stars Chris Pratt and Tom Holland as elf brothers. They find a magic staff and spell left by their father so they can see him for 24 hours. After the gem that powers the staff breaks, they must go on an adventure to find another one.

This world we are introduced to is a place we’re magic once existed but all the creatures developed technology and stopped using magic. The movie has clever sight gags about store names with funny names. The characters must learn to use their abilities that their ancestors did centuries ago. Chris Pratt and Tom Holland have good brotherly chemistry. Pratt is the older brother who fun loving and into the lore from centuries ago. Holland is the nervous younger brother. They must trust each other along their journey.

When Holland tries to perform the spell on the dad initially something goes wrong and only the dads legs appear. There are a lot of gags about the dad trying to communicate and the brothers disguise the dad and it’s reminiscent of Weekend At Bernie’s. Onward is also a road trip movie and has many plot points of road trip movies.

This movie deals with real modern problems, like a stepdad fitting in, brothers getting along, and closure of a dead loved one. There is a twist at the end that is a nice change of pace. They final battle is also very clever. Onward is a nice addition to the Pixar movie library and is a must see. 🍔🍔🍔

100 Underrated Movies of The Last Decade Part 1

A lot of people have been compiling lists of the 100 best movies of the decade but i want to do something a bit different. Many movies have come out that may have been forgotten or skipped over that deserve some attention. So in no particular order here is 100 movies of the last decade that you should take a look at. Here are numbers 100-76.

100. "Anonymous" (Roland Emmerich, 2011)

Anonymous, directed by Roland Emmerich is a much calmer choice to the usual action movies he directs. It's about the Theory that Edward De Vere, the Earl of Oxford actually wrote Shakespeare's plays. It's one of the best conspiracy plots of the decade with a surprising twist, starring Rhys Ifans and Vanessa Redgrave. Ifans gives a commanding performance.

99. "The Three Stooges" (Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly, 2012)

This three stooges remake is an original story set in the present day. It stars Will Sasso as Curly, Sean Hayes as Larry, and Chris Diamantopoulos as Moe. All three actors do the most spot on impressions of the stooges. It features a plot right out of the 1920s and many celebrity cameos. There is so much innocent comedy gags and routines you forget what year it is. There is even a PSA at the end about movie violence and a music video featuring the stooges. It's a shame there was never a sequel made because there's was a great opportunity to introduce a new generation to the three stooges.

98. "Mr. Church" (Bruce Beresford, 2016)

Eddie Murphy plays a family cook that stays on for years because the girls mother dies. The two form a family like relationship over the next fifteen years. This is one of Eddie Murphy's best and few dramatic and solemn performances rivaled only by Dolemite is My Name. It also stars Britt Robinson. It's always a pleasure to see comedic actors go outside their comfort zone and take on dramatic roles. In cases like this it is often successful.

97. "Robocop" (Jose Padilha, 2014)

This is the second Paul Verhoeven movie to be made this past decade. While the Total Recall remake was devoid of most everything that made the original great, the Robocop remake told the same story but focused on a different angle. Starring Joel Kinnaman as Alex Murphy, he explores how much of his humanity still exists after he is rebuilt. There is even a scene of Joel seeing what's left of his body after he is rebuilt and its met with horror and disgust. Joel Kinnaman is definitely an underrated actor of last decade. While the 80s style gore is not there it still tells a good story. Also starring Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, and Samuel L. Jackson.

96. "Wakefield" (Robin Swicord, 2017)

Bryan Cranston stars as a lawyer on the verge of a mental breakdown and can stand the day to day routine. He fakes his own disappearance and lives in his garage viewing his own life through the window. Throughout the movie Cranston has an inner monologue with himself and most of his performance is himself alone on screen. He debates his decision throughout and predicts every move in his house made by his wife. This is one of his best performances of his career.

95. "Mandy" (Panos Cosmatos, 2018)

Mandy stars Nicolas Cage who lives in the woods as a logger and is terrorized by a hippie biker gang and cult. He is driven to the breaking point as he goes on a revenge killing spree and forges his own axe. Cage's performance is so visceral and he conveys so much emotion without even saying a single word sometimes. With a score and color scheme to match the script this is one of Cage's best role and one of the most visually interesting movies of the last decade.

94. "The American" (Anton Corbijn, 2010)

Starring George Clooney as an assassin on his last assignment, This role has Clooney in a film with little to no dialogue which is the opposite of his normal roles. Normally he does very talkative roles and uses his dialogue skills to advance the plot. This time he must use his facial expressions alone to convey emotion and its very successful. This is the type of quiet narrative that you can really enjoy the visuals and scenery along with Clooney.

93. "The Devil's Double" (Lee Tamahori, 2011)

Dominic Cooper stars in a double role as Uday Hussein and the people forced to be his body double. Cooper really shows the complete duality in personalities of two people playing the same person. As Uday he shows the evil and maniacal mentality of the son of a dictator and as the double he shows a man who is forced into a terrible situation and the desperate struggle to be free.

92. "Blindspotting" (Carlos Lopez Estrada, 2018)

Starring Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal who also wrote the movie, a person recently on probation reevaluates his relationship with his best friend. Daveeds rap skills and dialogue are poetic and Rafael's performance goes from calm to volatile in sixty seconds. This movie has so many ups and downs and shows how black people are treated and judged in America. This movie got no recognition or nominations when it came out and it was one of the best movies of 2018.

91. "The Angry Birds Movie" (Clay Kaytis, Fergal Reilly, 2016)

Many movies based on videogames have come out of the years and The Angry Birds Movie was the first one to receive positive reactions. With a voice cast featuring Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny Mcbride, and Bill Hader, this movie captures the essence of the game which is simple. The pigs try to steal the birds eggs. The comedy and jokes are hilarious and there's a scene which all the characters actually reenact the actual game. The Angry Birds Movie didn't try to be anything more than it was based on and that's why it excelled.

90. "Warm Bodies" (Jonathan Levine, 2013

There have been so many zombie movies that many have been lost in the fold and forgotten. They need to do something different with zombies since there are so many rehashed plots and similar plots. Warm Bodies differs by showing that the people who have become zombies still have complex, rational thoughts even though they can't verbally convey them. The cure for the zombie virus is very interesting and something new. Starring Nicholas Hoult, Teresa Palmer, John Malkovich, and Rob Corddry, this forgotten zombie comedy deserves a rewatch.

89. "Super 8" (J. J. Abrams, 2011)

Super 8 is a classic homage to E.T. and coming of age stories. Directed by J.J. Abrams and starring Elle Fanning, this movie about an alien landing in a small town reminds us of the sense of wonder and innocence about children and aliens trying to get home. The special effects are great and feel seamless and the acting feels like a precursor to Stranger Things. I feel many people forgot about this movie even though it was well reviewed.

88. "Kidnap" (Luis Prieto, 2017)

Halle Berry has been out of mainstream hollywood for a few years. After making some bad movies then some straight to dvd movies, Kidnap came out. Berry stars as a mother pursuing her kidnapped son. Her acting is intense and there are some great car chases. She is resourceful and quick on her feet when she encounters an obstacle. This movie was definitely under the radar and written off in most people's minds but its a solid fast paced movie.

87. "Robot and Frank" (Jack Scheirer, 2012)

Frank Langella stars as an older man whose son gets him a robot to look after him and they perform heists together. It's a heartwarming movie about discovering your passion and its ending is very sad. It wasn't nominated when it came out and it should have been. Frank Langella is incredible and Susan Sarandon is great as well. they have great chemistry. Check it out.

86. "V/H/S 2" (Simon Barrett, Jason Eisener, Gareth Evans, Gregg Hale, Eduardo Sanchez, Timo Tjahjanto, Adam Wingard, 2013

The second in the series of found footage segments, V/H/S 2 has the highest production value and the most entertaining stories. One is about a satanic ritual, one is about a zombie attack, and one is about a guy who gets a camera in his new eye that show weird images. This sequel improved on the first V/H/S and was the best of the series.

85. "Black Mass" (Scott Cooper, 2015)

After a string of bad movies for Johnny Depp, Black Mass was a solid performance as the gangster, Whitey Bulger. It should have gotten more credit than it deserved but was written off as another Johnny Depp flop. Depp is intimidating and menacing but also charismatic. Director Scott Cooper went on to direct Hostiles and the upcoming Antlers. He really knows how to capture grittiness.

84. "Phoenix Forgotten" (Justin Barber, 2017)

There have been many, many found footage movie over the years. What makes Phoenix Forgotten stand out over the others is that it's based on true events from the late 90s and alien abduction. It's a throwback to when alien abduction sightings and stories were popular. Since most found footage movies have been about ghosts and demons lately, it's a breath of fresh air to see one about aliens again.

83. "Ready or Not" (Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, 2019)

With many movie premises being based and childrens games and board games like Battleship, Ouija, and Truth or Dare, who ever thought a movie about hide and seek would be entertaining? But to everyone's surprise, Ready or Not took a silly premise and made it fun, clever, and widely entertaining. Samara Weaving and Adam Brody are great and have some of the best dialogue in the movie. If hollywood is going to keep making movies about childhood games then more should be like this and less like Truth or Dare.

82. "Predators" (Nimrod Antal, 2010)

Out of all the predator movies to come out over the years, Predators is the most underrated. It featured a story taking place on an alien planet, had ties to the original movie, and established hierarchy between different groups of predators. The predator race would kidnap other species to hunt for sport. They took people from different countries who were in different military and hunting units who were the deadliest in their field. It had an allstar cast including Adrien Brody, Danny Trejo, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, and Mahershala Ali. It's a shame it didn't do well in theaters because a sequel would have been great. Instead we got 2018's The Predator.

81. "What If" (Michael Dowse, 2014)

One of Daniel Radcliffe's first post Harry Potter acting roles, What If is a romantic comedy about relationships and being friends with the opposite sex. Radcliffe shows his comedic talent and acting range here and it's a great performance. He would only go on to do more interesting roles and explore his acting ability. Also features Adam Driver and Zoe Kazan.

80. "Sleight" (J. D. Dillard, 2017)

A young street magician must do whatever it takes to provide for his sister on the streets. This movie is one part drama, one part scifi, and one part action movie. Sleight received very little publicity despite being a very multi layered plot. Jacob Latimore is very compelling as the main character Bo, and going to great and unbelievable lengths to make his magic real.

79. "Rush" (Ron Howard, 2013)

Ron Howard directs the true story of formula one racers James Hunt and Niki Lauda. Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl both give great performances to the point where you root for both racers to win. For Hemsworth this is one of his first truly great dramatic roles outside of the Marvel cinematic universe. This is Bruhl's first breakout starring role in the United States. It's a great story about two rival racers who eventually become friends and prove that winning isn't everything.

78. "Joe" (David Gordon Green, 2014)

Nicolas Cage has done a lot of independent movies in the last decade. Many of them feature Cage doing over the top, outrageous performances in bad, forgettable scripts. But Joe is a more refined performance and features Cage as an ex convict mentoring a young boy who has an abusive, deadbeat father. It's one of Cage's best roles in years and unfortunately got lost in all the other  abundance of Cage movies but deserves to be recognized.

77. "Look Who's Back" (David Wnendt, 2015)

Adolf Hitler wakes up in the 21st century and gains media attention and popularity. Some people think it's a joke, some people think it's real and go along with it. It's viewed as i think the present day would react to Hitler coming back to life. This very dark comedy came out in Germany and should be watched.

76. "Assassination Nation" (Sam Levinson, 2018)

When footage of people in a small town doing things they don't want public leaks on the internet, the people in the town start killing each other and going crazy. This movie shows how dependant people are on social media and how speculation causes panic. This is a better purge movie than any of the purge movies ever released and is a glimpse into society that may not be too far off.
