Lego Movie 2: Continuing to Push The Boundaries of Kids Films

When The Lego Movie came out it blew people away with amazing effects and a heartwarming story. There have been two spin off movies since then but when the direct sequel came out, audiences were excited to see what was next for the people of bricksburg.

The world of duplo came to bricksburg and destroyed the town. We join the characters in a mad max post-apocalyptic setting. There are lessons about being yourself and accepting others as well as realizing that you don’t have to and can’t be happy all the time. There are more live action scenes in this movie than the first one but they serve a purpose. They are used to show the dynamic between the brother and sister that play with the lego world set up in the movie.

The Lego Movie 2 uses the same observational humor about personalities and situations threat the first one does. The character Rex Dangervest represents the change that Lucy wanted for Emmett but in a really drastic way. At the center, this movie is about a brother and sister getting along and learning to share. There are catchy songs, real life lessons for the whole family, and stunning visuals. Lets hope there are more lego movies to come. 🍔🍔🍔
