Lupita's character is very calm and has little outward emotion. Her doppelganger explains that they are all something called the 'tethered" and they were a government experiment. She is the only tethered that can speak. Winston's doppelganger has a big beard and needs glasses since Winston wears them. Shahadi and Evan's doppelgangers represent them but more extreme. But it's Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker that really show a big difference in their characters. When their doppelgangers show up they kill the real people and the way they express emotion without speaking is incredible. All the actors do an amazing job playing two of the same characters but polar opposite of their personalities.
Us does give hints to the ending throughout the movie and with a second viewing it's easier to spot them. There is symbolism and references throughout like bible verses and things on television. But the explanation for the tethered leaves the audience wanting more. There could have been more fleshed out in the end. It would be interesting to see another movie in this universe. Jordan Peele is a very talented writer and director and i am looking forward to his next project. 🍔🍔 and 1/2 🍔
